David Boykin, President and CEO of Westward Financial Strategies, joined the historic St. Louis agency for Guardian Life and Park Avenue Securities in April 2010. His passion for the industry and its advisors compelled him to move from personal production to management in the early 1990s; and now with over two decades of experience, David has accepted the challenge of agency leadership.

As a committed advocate of the life insurance industry, David has forged new ground in the development of advisors by tirelessly creating marketing and training systems. Through those systems and his industry involvement, he has helped hundreds of people build meaningful careers. His work ethic, enthusiasm and dedication to industry causes were recognized when an independent panel of financial professionals in Dallas, TX named David Advisor of the Year, a prestigious award given to those who have demonstrated a career-long commitment to excellence and helping others. David dedicates his time to speaking on various local and national platforms, and continues to write nationally published articles.

In his role with New York Life, David was named Dallas General Offices Partner of the Year numerous times. He also received the highly regarded Gathering of Eagles Award, Excellence in Recruiting Award, and the coveted Ring of Honor Award.

Modern Woodmen of America
David earned the high honor of membership in Modern Woodmen’s District Management Round Table on multiple occasions.

GAMA International
David was awarded the 2011 Editor’s Choice Award for his article, “ATM: Advisors’ Time Management.” As a sales manager, he was a multiple recipient both for the International Frontline Leader Award and, as an agency leader, the International Management Award Platinum.

National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors
In his role as Continuing Education Chair for NAIFA-Dallas, David founded the popular regional education event Race for CE, now in its 10th consecutive year. David’s career-long support of the industry and its advisors shows in his dossier of positions served: NAIFA-Dallas President, Imitate Past President, Executive Secretary, Membership Director, Continuing Education Chair, LUTCF Chair, and LUTC moderator. David currently serves on the Board of Directors of NAIFA-St. Louis as the Programs Chair.

David and his wife, Karen, enjoy time together, traveling, and visiting with their four grown sons. David is a science buff, coaches and plays for a men’s basketball league, and is an avid collector of music and art.
