Lisa H. Powell, JD, CLU, ChFC, LLIF
Vice President

Lisa previously helped to guide and build out advanced planning sales support services and capabilities for several other life insurance companies, including AXA Equitable, Jefferson Pilot and Prudential. As an advanced planning attorney herself, and nationally known speaker at producer conferences, Lisa understands the needs of the field force, and her strength is in forming an advanced sales department devoted to helping advisors close cases.

George has been advising and training financial professionals on advanced planning topics for over 30 years, including 6 years as a general agent for Guardian, in Tampa. Jim is a former IRS tax attorney where he wrote many private and public rulings on estate, gifts, GST and charitable tax planning. He has written many articles for professional publications and is the coauthor of several estate and insurance planning books.

Victor has extensive experience in the business, estate and charitable planning areas. After privately practicing law for 10 years, he was an advanced planning attorney for Prudential Insurance, led the high net worth financial planning group for Prudential Securities, and later managed the Case Management Group for SEI Investment's Wealth Network serving ultra high net worth clients. Victor has spoken frequently at industry conferences, legal and accounting continuing education.

Larry is an accomplished 30 year industry veteran with diverse experience. Before joining Guardian in 2005, he managed a 401(k) department for a mutual fund manager, owned and operated a qualified plans administration firm, and worked as an advanced planning attorney for various bank trust departments. He has been adjunct professor as well as a continuing education speaker for the New York State Bar Association.

 

Ted Manno, JD, LLM
Advanced Markets Attorney

Expertise: Corporate, Estate, Charitable and Business Planning

Ted has 34 years of experience in the advanced markets. He was General Counsel of the Savings Bank Life Insurance Fund before he started working with advisors and supporting them on their advanced sales needs. Ted has been an adjunct professor of business organizations at New York University, and insurance, at Seton Hall University, and has been published in legal and industry publications.

Paul has been in the financial services industry since 1985. He has been in the home office and the field. His experience includes wholesaling concepts in the advanced markets with Fixed, Variable, and Linked Benefit Products. Prior to Guardian, Paul worked at Lincoln Financial Group and CIGNA Life Corporation.

Head of Advanced Case Design Manager

Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a 30 year insurance industry veteran - half of that time with Guardian. He specializes in helping advisors understand Guardian's full suite of life insurance products, and also supports them with competitive company and product information, as well as sales illustrations for qualified and non-qualified plans.

An 18 year industry veteran, Bryan has worked extensively with high net worth clients and their advisors. After early work in actuarial science and executive benefits administration, Bryan moved to personal planning, where he has worked exclusively with advisors and clients in the areas of business planning, insurance planning and analytics, and personal financial planning. Bryan previously was an Agency manager for a TPA firm, as well as a Case Strategist for SEI Investment's Wealth Network, which served high net worth clients.

Anna has been with Guardian for 30 years taking on diverse roles and responsibilities within various units, including the Pension Department, Executive Benefits Department and Specialty Life Department. Anna has been with advanced planning for over 7 years, providing sales support services to our agents and specializing in executive benefit plan illustrations.

Manager, Qualified Plans Marketing

Ernie Guerriero is the Head of Qualified Plan Marketing. Ernie is recognized as a retirement planning expert in the industry and is a noted lecturer and publisher, particularly in qualified plan designs for closely held business owners. Ernie has also worked extensively with CPA firms in practice management, bridging tax preparation and financial services. He has taught employee benefits courses at various colleges and is a continuing education instructor with the Professional Insurance Agent of NY, NJ and CT.
 

Susan Grant, QKA, QPA
Qualified Plans Consultant


Susan brings vast knowledge and over 20 years experience to the qualified plans department. In addition to a successful career selling and installing qualified plans, she also owned her own pension administration and consulting business and once administered the 7th largest DB plan in the country. She is well versed in all aspects of qualified plans including sales and marketing strategy, case design and administration, and technical and compliance requirements.

 

Lillian Tam

Qualified Plans Illustrations Specialist

Lillian is a veteran of the qualified retirement plans industry, with over 20 years of experience in the administration and design of qualified plans. Most of her career has been with Guardian, but she was also a manager in the pension department of The United States Life Insurance Co.

Pension Actuary

Eric is an enrolled actuary and member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He has over 18 years of experience in the employee benefits consulting field, working with and training advisors on case analysis, plan design and business solutions in the qualified plans area.





Jose Montenegro, EA, MAAA, MSPA, COPA
Qualified Plans Consultant

Jose has over 30 years of experience in the qualified retirement plans. Before joinging Guardian, he worked for AXA Equitable in various capacities including marketing, technical and sales support, and product development. He is well versed in all aspects of qualified retirement plans as well as in 403(b) and 457(b) plans, and IRAs including SEPs, SARSEPs and Simple IRA plan requirements.

Project Director

Jennifer has been involved with Guardian in a variety of positions to leverage her skills in strategic planning and organizational effectiveness. She has worked as a marketing strategist and in marketing intelligence, and consulted with various business units on niche marketing. She has worked with several select agencies in their development of advanced planning capabilities, and is currently focused on the build-out of the Business Resource Center.


Carrolyn Colding

Carrolyn has been with Guardian since 2004 working closely with the advanced planning and sales support group. She brings many years of experience in support services to the BRC as its Coordinator, assisting Lisa in the day-to-day activities of the BRC.
